Associate Attorney - Litigation

Job Description

K.K Eleja & Co. is seeking a talented and motivated Associate Attorney to join our litigation practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with our partners and senior associates on a variety of litigation matters, including civil litigation, commercial disputes, and administrative proceedings.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for and attend court hearings, depositions, and trials
  • Interview clients and witnesses
  • Review and analyze documents and evidence
  • Assist in case strategy development
  • Maintain regular communication with clients
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments

Qualifications

  • LL.B. degree from an accredited university
  • Successful completion of the Nigerian Law School program
  • 2-5 years of experience in litigation
  • Strong research and writing skills
  • Excellent oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Proficiency in legal research tools and Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in commercial litigation or administrative law
  • Advanced degree in law (LL.M.) or specialized certification
  • Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods
  • Membership in professional legal associations
